Xamfrà › Accessibility statement
Accessibility statement
We want the viewer and this website to work with a keyboard, with enough contrast and in Catalan, English and Spanish. We are not fully there yet: this page says what we checked, what still fails and how to tell us.
- Partially compliantcompliance status
- EN 301 549 V3.2.1equivalent to WCAG 2.1 level AA
- 5 Oct 2026date of preparation
- Self-assessmentautomated and keyboard checks
Scope
This statement applies to the Xamfrà viewer (xamfra.damosenelblanco.com/visor/) and to the presentation website (xamfra.damosenelblanco.com). It is published by Damos en el Blanco, which is responsible for Xamfrà.
If a public administration uses Xamfrà under its own name, its own accessibility statement is the one that applies to that use. This page describes only the technical state of Xamfrà.
Compliance status
The viewer is partially compliant with EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (clause 9), the European standard built on WCAG 2.1 level AA. This means we have found and fixed most of the problems, but some remain; they are listed in the next section.
On 3 October 2026 we ran an audit that found one blocking problem, nine major ones and fourteen minor ones. On 5 October 2026 we repeated it: the blocking problem and the major ones are fixed or reduced to a documented limitation (information that is only on the map), the fourteen minor ones are fixed, and the review found eleven new ones, of which ten are already fixed and one is advisory only.
The presentation website (this one) has not been reviewed in the same way: see «Parts not reviewed».
Non-accessible content
The content below is not yet accessible, for the reasons given.
Information that is only on the map
Part of the information is shown only on the map:
- river and stream names on hover;
- rent per neighbourhood or municipality on hover;
- street stretches outside the commercial streets ranking;
- live vehicle positions.
The summaries, the context panel tables and the per-section CSV download give the main figures (WCAG 1.1.1, 1.3.1).
Map labels
Map labels, drawn in WebGL, do not adapt to text spacing or page zoom (WCAG 1.4.4, 1.4.12).
Assistive technologies and devices not tested
We have not tested the viewer with screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack), voice control or Windows high contrast. Nor with page zoom in iOS Safari or on real phones. Our tests are on a desktop browser (Chrome), with automated tools and with the keyboard.
Parts not reviewed
- This presentation website, beyond the code of the contact form.
- The printed area report and the printable scenario sheet.
- The dashboards in «Data», beyond opening them.
- The Madrid and New York regions.
Other known limitations
- The twelve map credit links sit between the map and the panels in the Tab order. The skip links bypass them, but we have not moved them.
- At 400% zoom on very short screens (under 300 px high), the top bar takes a lot of room and the page scrolls vertically. WCAG allows it, but it is not comfortable.
- Some touch targets are small (names in rankings, bars in a histogram, two expandable rows). This is a WCAG 2.2 criterion, which EN 301 549 V3.2.1 does not yet require; we will take it into account.
Alternatives
Each view has a one-sentence reading («In one sentence»), figures and a legend in the context panel. Map features can be selected from the keyboard with the centre crosshair: Enter, or the «Select at centre» button. Per-section data can be downloaded as CSV. If you need the information in another format, write to us through the contact channel.
Accessibility features of the viewer
- Skip links to the map, the open drawer, the context panel and the legend.
- Search with Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac).
- Selection at the map centre with Enter.
- Area drawing and planning tools with the centre crosshair and «Vertex at crosshair» or «Add at crosshair» (also the V key with the focus on the map).
- Escape to leave modes.
- Light and dark themes.
- Catalan, English and Spanish.
- The reduced-motion preference is respected.
How this statement was prepared
It was prepared on . The method was a self-assessment by Damos en el Blanco, the supplier of the viewer, with automated and manual keyboard tests in the Chrome browser, on 3 and 5 October 2026.
We looked at the names, roles and states of controls in Chrome’s accessibility tree, the contrast of text and outlines, the Tab order with visible focus, and reflow on narrow screens (down to 320 px), in Catalan, English and Spanish and in light and dark themes. Some surfaces were reviewed only by reading the code.
We have not tested with screen readers or other assistive technologies. We will review it every year and after any substantial change.
Feedback and contact
If you find a barrier or need information in an accessible format, let us know:
- through the contact form on this website;
- inside the viewer, with the «Feedback» button.
Tell us which page or view you are on, what you were trying to do and, if you wish, which browser or assistive technology you use. We will answer by e-mail as soon as we can.
If you use Xamfrà through an administration that publishes it under its own name, you can also contact its accessibility unit; its statement is the one that applies.
